This Fall, we hope you can join us for one or several of our brown bag lunches focusing on burnout among healthcare professionals and its consequences.

In a very private and serene setting that could accommodate 5-7 participants comfortably, we would like to engage local professionals to discuss how the professional community can relate better to grief, suffering and death.

"Dancing with Life: Tango Todo Terreno" is an original collaboration between two New Haven-based professionals: Nathalie Bonafé (A Gentler Parting, LLC) and Gerardo Sorkin (Meaningful Exchanges, LLC).

Free educational event. The purpose of this special Q&A event “Ask a Doula” is to introduce the members of the community to the concept of holistic care for the elderly and their entire family. Meet Nathalie Bonafé, Ph.D., a Certified Care Consultant and Doula based in New Haven. In a group format, she defines the role of a Doula and answers your questions. She is a former biomedical research scientist, specialized in cancer studies, and also a direct-care hospice volunteer with Seasons’ Hospice and Palliative Care.

The conference, which was held at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, was hosted by Care Decisions Connecticut, a statewide movement that aims to empower people to take an active role in healthcare decision making, beginning with conversations about the kind of end-of-life care they wish to receive.  The initiative includes representatives from hospitals, state agencies, insurance companies, as well as long-term, home, hospice, and palliative care.
